They've said this several times, I'm honestly thinking this generation overall may last longer.

Yea I can see this happening, and to be honest I really have nothing wrong with that. But I am positive that Nintendo will probably be the first company to go next-gen

I want there to be a new Wii with PS3's graphics and the Xbox's online service. That would be great!

And if it dispensed cold Coca-Cola in those neat-o glass bottles!

The next Wii should be interesting, if they keep that name with it. One thing they better plan on, is being able to keep people's downloads tied to an account, becouse I know people who have downloaded a crap ton of games to their systems. And a better online Interface would be excellent.

I give the Wii two more years before the next Wii comes. Life cycles are definitely extending with home consoles. The 360 and PS3 were designed with a 10 yr life span in mind. I don't see the Wii living that long. Again I give it 2 more years. And it better be able to do laundry or make toast!

Or turn your laundry into toast.

I think Nintendo might not make an altogether new system, rather they will just upgrade the Wii.
Like MkMiku said in a different thread, Nintendo always manages to wow people by doing the completely unexpected.
BTW, I don't think Nintendo will even announce a new home console for another 2 years or so.
Neither Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft seem to have any intentions of ending this game generation anytime soon. Sony even said that there would not be a new Playstation console for at least 8 years.
On top of that, there is the possibility that the next video game generation may be the last before video games just become virtual reality, that you plug into and play with your mind. I mean seriously, the world of video games is running low on fresh ideas. Nintendo knows that, and I think that they will let the Wii make them money for a good while to come.

How would they upgrade it? Firmware updates can't do that. A new sku would have to be released, like a "WiiHD". They said that they're working on the next console which means your theory on big N not making a new console has been proven otherwise. The deal is with the Wii's continued success they are in no rush to release, let alone announce the next console. If not 2 years then how long? Nintendo calculates their steps with great tact and precision. They are waiting for Wii to run out of steam in my opinion.

I just realized that unlike the other two consoles the wiimote could have endless addons
So the only reason for a New console is for better graphic or 3D
Everything at inputwise can all ready be done
So say if there was a game that you could *control with you mind* you would only need a new addon not a new console.
I know thats streching it but they really dont need a new console unless they want better graphics
Just new peripherals

Well the thing is we don't really know how much more power the PS3 has, it's put out some amazing stuff, with a Blu ray drive it's set on space. The 360 while limited by disc space has a big user base. And the Wii has sold lots of consoles. I wouldn't be shocked for us to hear something at TGS even an announcement, but I wouldn't expect to see anything until at least E3 2011, and then maybe a fall release in 2012, could be wrong though.
